Pierre Karleskind is a Member of the European Parliament since 2019 and Chair of the Committee on Fisheries (PECH) since January 2020. After graduating the Ecole Polytechnique as an engineer, Pierre Karleskind defended his PhD thesis in marine sciences in 2008.
He began his professional carrier as a consultant in marine science and technology from 2008 to 2018. At the same time, he got involved locally: Municipal councilor of Brest, then regional councilor of Brittany, he became the youngest of the Vice-Presidents of the Brittany Region in 2012. In Parliament, he fights for the respect of the rule of law and for the maritime sector.
