Bruno Guillaumie is the European Mollusc Producers’ Association (EMPA) Secretary General since 2003. EMPA brings together the national organizations of the shellfish production sector from the 8 European countries representing about 7000 shellfish farms. He is also in charge of European affairs at the national committee on shellfish farming (CNC, EMPA’s founder member) that gathers 150 000 companies of the French shellfish branch.

He has been involved in previous EU funded projects (SEAFOOD+, CONSENSUS, EUROSHELL, SEAFOODtomorrow). More recently, he contributed to the creation of the Aquaculture Advisory Council and is appointed as the rapporteur of its Working Group on Shellfish.

He also has a previous extensive experience in the field of socio-economic studies in the sector of fisheries and aquaculture for which he produced numerous studies, provided French national technical assistance of the Community Initiative PESCA and animated a network of partners associated with the local development of areas dependent of the sea in France, particularly in employment and training, in respect of which he has coordinated several network projects co-financed by the European social fund.
