Pringle and beyond:
lessons from 10 years of ESM-related court decisions
Following the 10th anniversary of the Pringle judgment, the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) will host a legal conference devoted to 10 years of litigation involving the ESM on Friday, 30 June 2023.
The half-day event will take place at the ESM’s premises in Luxembourg, and it will also be streamed online. Together with distinguished speakers from practice and academia, we will explore the relevant cases and put them into a broad perspective. We aim to discuss crises as a shaping and evolutionary factor of the EU institutional framework. The compelling agenda will include the keynote speech delivered by the President of the Court of Justice of the European Union, Mr Koen Lenaerts, followed by three panels on the Pringle judgment itself and other related European cases, relevant decisions of national courts, as well as the bigger picture, looking more broadly at the crises, crossroads, and evolution.
The ESM is looking forward to welcoming you to this stock-taking, but also forward-looking gathering! Participation requires prior (online) registration and is free of charge. Please keep in mind that the number of places for in-person participants is limited. The streaming, which requires no prior registration and will be available on this website, will only allow to follow the conference remotely without being able to ask questions or to participate in the discussion.
